Therapy for Anxiety

Wit’s End Therapy is for the overthinkers, the underthinkers, and everything in between. Bring all your anxious thoughts like a tangled ball of yarn, and we'll knit something out of it together.

When I'm really anxious...

Overthinkers Welcome Here

These are common phrases that come up in sessions with my clients. Oftentimes, anxious folx have all the insights and analysis, and they come into my office wanting to "fix." They want the answers to "but how?" or "what do I do?" And I don't blame them.

Hey, I have anxiety, too, and I resonate with their questions. But often what's missing with anxiety treatment is a focus on the body.

Your body feels that anxiety and detects a threat even before your thoughts can catch up. So I utilize a bottom-up approach; I will not dismiss the role of the body in managing your anxiety - never fixing, always managing. Because fixing treats your anxiety as a problem, and all your anxiety is trying to do is protect you, so let's help it do its job.

Reasoning, problem-solving, and arguing with our thoughts often falls short. And isn't fighting them all the time so exhausting? â€‹

That being said, I'll meet you where you're at. I'll analyze alongside you down the rabbit hole, so you're not alone in seeking understanding. But I'll also keep us both accountable to checking in with the body through mindfulness and somatic skills. And I promise this - I will never once tell you to "calm down."
