UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

  • Marriage and Family Therapy Program - Mary gives annual lectures on Teen Suicide Prevention: Ethics, Diversity, & Countertransference to MFTs in training

  • Disenfranchised Grief & Non-Death Loss seminar to fellow USC clinicians

  • Mary led many outreaches to USC Students and Staff on relevant topics, such as: Healthy Relationships, Election Stress, Mindfulness and Self-Compassion, Loneliness, Grief and Loss, Conflict Resolution, Managing Big Emotions, Suicide Prevention, and Trauma-informed Care. ​

SOUTH BAY OF LOS ANGELES

  • Vistamar School & Fusion Academy - Mary led multiple workshops on Mental Health 101 to high school students and their parents

  • Consortium for Therapists in Private Practice - two-day workshop on Teen Suicide Prevention for local clinicians

  • New Opportunities Adult Charter School - Life Skills Curriculum on topics, such as mental health, addiction, and financial well-being.

UNIVERSITY OF OREGON & BEYOND

​

  • Ophelia’s Place, A Community for Girls - presented to elementary, middle, and high school classes across the state of Oregon on healthy relationships, bullying, online safety, conflict resolution, and sexual harassment.

  • Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women - Mary created a national model for sorority mental health workshops to address traditionally taboo topics such as depression, coping, alcohol use, and body image. 

  • University of Oregon Student Suicide Prevention Team - Mary piloted research to develop a 90-minute peer-to-peer suicide prevention presentation tailored to the college population. She drew from best practices and benchmarked over 20 universities to educate student groups about risk and protective factors, warning signs, and response and referral protocol to increase help-seeking across campus.

  • Association for University and College Counseling Center Outreach (AUCCCO) Three Methods of Peer-to-Peer Outreach: Improving Mental Health on College Campuses - Selected as the only undergraduate team to present at the AUCCCO national conference in 2018, Mary collected research to advise campus professionals on how to implement Student Suicide Prevention Teams at their respective universities.
